What You Need for Homemade Room Fragrance
The list of materials is very straightforward, and fortunately, all the tools are inexpensive to purchase.
- You need a container for the fragrant liquid. A narrow neck is preferable so the scent doesn’t dissipate too quickly.
- A neutral-scented vegetable oil is needed; sunflower oil is recommended.
- Essential oil is also required. It is available inexpensively and in a wide variety at drugstores.
- About seven bamboo sticks or skewers. The wood absorbs the fragrance oil and slowly releases it into the room air.

How to Make Room Fragrance Yourself
First, pour the neutral-scented oil into the container. It should hold a maximum of 200 milliliters. Next, add a few drops of essential oil to the already filled oil, according to your taste.
Note: It’s better to start with a few drops of essential oil and add more if needed. These oils can be very intense.
Finally, dip the wooden skewers into the newly created fragrance oil, remove them, and place them back in the container upside down. Once the top part of the wood is coated with fragrance oil, the scent can immediately spread throughout the room. The rest of the stick will gradually absorb the oil from bottom to top over time.
