Christmas decorations can be easily crafted at home. How about beautiful paper Christmas stars to hang up at home?

With four materials that most people already have at home, you can make Christmas stars in just a few steps. The instructions are so simple that parents can get creative with their children.

Making Christmas Stars from Paper Bags – Two Variants

You can quickly make beautiful Christmas stars from paper bags. Depending on your dexterity, there is a particularly simple guide and a slightly more challenging one, which is still easy to follow. The required materials are the same for both options:

  • 8 paper bags (for one star)
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Thread (length depending on how high the star should hang)

Instructions for the Simple Variant

  1. Place a paper bag in front of you with the opening facing up, apply glue to the surface, and stick another paper bag precisely on top.
  2. Repeat the process with all the bags until you have a stack that sticks together well.
  3. Now cut both corners of the open side diagonally to form a triangle.
  4. Apply glue to the surface of the outer bag and fan out the bags at the open side so you can glue the two outer bags together.
  5. Finally, use the scissors to make a hole in one of the tips and thread the string through. Your homemade Christmas star is ready!

Instructions for the More Challenging Variant

The approach is the same up to and including step 3 from the previous instructions. After that, proceed as follows:

  1. Now cut small triangles at regular intervals into the edges of the diagonally cut sides.
  2. Cut semicircles into the sides above the edges with the small triangles. It should look like this:

Steps 4 and 5 are then the same as for the simpler Christmas star.
