For those who value a stylish, harmonious setup, the Wi-Fi router can be an eyesore. In this “Easy Home” episode, myHOMEBOOK editor Katharina Regenthal shows how to hide the router beautifully.
Interior fans will know the feeling: Every detail of the decor is meticulously coordinated, and then the router stands out. The unattractive plastic device often doesn’t fit into the overall look. Here, you’ll learn how to hide the router beautifully without compromising its function.
What You Need
You can hide a router in various ways. We’ve chosen a method where the device blends perfectly with the rest of the decor. Here’s what you need:
- Picture frame
- Rattan weave (or fabric as an alternative)
- Scissors
- Hot glue
It’s important that the picture frame’s edge is wide enough to stand on its own. Additionally, the entire frame should be larger than the router to hide it nicely.

How to Hide the Router Beautifully
With a bit of skill, this DIY project is quickly done–and the router won’t catch your eye anymore. Here’s how:
- First, remove the glass from the picture frame–you won’t need it. The back panel is also unnecessary.
- Next, place the rattan weave on the frame and cut it to the appropriate size. It will replace the glass of the picture frame.
- Then, use the hot glue gun to apply small dots on the inside of the frame. Simply lay the rattan weave on top and wait a moment for it to dry.
- And you’re done. Now place the finished frame directly in front of the router–it will now be stylishly concealed.
