Not only during his active career but also years after retiring from professional soccer, David Beckham has remained a globally recognized name. The former soccer star continues to be in the spotlight with his projects, family life, and new ideas. Now, he is taking on a special role: He will become a gardener for King Charles.
Every year, the “King’s Foundation” under the patronage of King Charles designs a garden for the famous “Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show” in London. It is the most important garden show in the United Kingdom. Next year, it will take place from May 19 to 23, 2026, and is considered a trend barometer for the latest ideas in garden and interior design.
David Beckham Designs a Garden
As reported by the magazine “Brisant,” none other than former soccer pro David Beckham is taking on this task this year. He is playing a significant role in the garden project implemented by the King’s Foundation and the RHS. Why him? Just last November, the Englishman was knighted by King Charles for his “services to sport and charity.”

Last year, “Sir Beckham” was officially an ambassador for the royal family’s charity, which supports causes such as conservation and education. He is not the first to take the reins in the garden. Other well-known figures like Princess Kate and Sir Elton John have creatively contributed to the Chelsea Flower Show in recent years.
Also in the Garden Privately
And David Beckham has not only been on the grass professionally for years: He has also discovered gardening for himself privately. On social media, he regularly shares insights into his country life. He shows himself harvesting carrots, beekeeping, or with his animals. In addition to his dogs, chickens have now become a permanent part of the Beckham family. His estate in the Cotswolds in Oxfordshire also shows how much he enjoys spending time in nature. “I knew my love for the countryside would grow once I had this country house, but I didn’t know how much,” he revealed in the fall in a BILD report (also part of Axel Springer).
