Save time and effort while baking or cooking–who wouldn’t want that? Sometimes, though, we make things harder for ourselves when they could be so simple. With our quick and easy tricks, you’ll save time and nerves in the kitchen!

The dough rises when it shouldn’t, the parchment paper won’t stay in place: These seemingly small issues can cost a lot of time. But with simple tricks, you can become a true kitchen pro. Hobby baker and blogger Tamara Staab from Mara’s Wonderland shares her ultimate hacks in the myHOMEBOOK kitchen to make baking even easier. You can see how they work in the video.

The Parchment Paper Trick

When you need to line a springform pan with parchment paper, there’s no need for scissors. Instead of struggling to cut a circle the size of the pan, there’s a much easier way. Simply detach the springform from the base and place the parchment paper on it. Then reattach the ring over the parchment paper–and the base is lined.

The Springform Trick

Hobby baker Mara has more kitchen hacks for the springform pan–this time about baking. More specifically, the dough. If only the bottom of the pan needs to be covered, you can skip pressing it with your fingers. Instead, roll out the dough and use the springform like a large cookie cutter. This way, you have the right size for the base. Tip: Dust the edge of the springform with a little flour beforehand, so the dough releases more easily.

The Fork Trick

It always looks so easy with the pros–but as soon as you’re in the kitchen, it just doesn’t work. We’re talking about dough. Either it doesn’t rise when it should, or vice versa. If the dough shouldn’t rise, like for a cake base, Mara shares a simple trick: poke the dough several times with a fork–and it won’t rise during baking.
