Flour is sold in paper bags. To prevent moisture and pests from getting in, it’s best to transfer it to airtight containers at home. Most people simply pour it out of the bag, which can quickly lead to a mess. There’s a trick that makes it easier and cleaner.
When you pour flour out of the bag, it can quickly take on a life of its own. Often, a large clump ends up not in the intended container but on the table instead. Scooping with a spoon takes time, and using a ladle would make pouring just as risky. The solution is a whisk.
Using a Tool to Get Flour Out of the Bag
Whisks are typically used to mix, stir, or beat ingredients. However, they can be repurposed to easily and quickly remove flour from a bag. The method is quite simple: Insert the whisk into the bag, press it into the flour, and pull it out. The flour collects inside the whisk, allowing you to transfer it to another container without spilling.
