When Kim Kardashian opened the doors to her home for a room tour, the surprise was significant. It appeared as though she, her husband Kanye West, and their four children were living in a modern monastery. The house featured high, bare walls, long empty hallways, and decor in white and beige—no frills, no decorations—minimalism in its most extreme form. However, one area of the Kardashian-West estate is anything but minimalist.
The multimillionaire entrepreneur Kim Kardashian lives in luxury. However, her home is less ostentatious. Anyone expecting a lavish estate filled with extravagance will be surprised. Instead, the famous family’s home is tidy and simple–in the eyes of many viewers and fans, too simple. “It’s so cold and creepy,” “It’s nice, but does anyone actually live there?” and “This must be the creepiest house I’ve ever seen–creepy enough for a horror movie,” were just some of the comments about Kim and Kanye’s house. The reality TV star couldn’t let that stand and has now shown the world her children’s playroom.
Abundance in the Kardashian Kids’ Playroom
Kim’s home is anything but minimalist when it comes to her children North (6), Saint (4), Chicago (2), and Psalm (<1). She recently showcased the playroom of her four kids on her Instagram profile. Did you ever dream as a child of running through a toy store with a shopping cart, grabbing everything your heart desired? Well, Kim’s kids don’t need dreams like that. Their play paradise offers more than just a few plain stuffed animals and building blocks. Instead, it includes:
- Plastic ponies for riding and cuddling
- A slide with a ball pit
- A stage with drums, guitars, violins, microphones, and tambourines
- Dolls in all possible variations
- Action figures and other toys in every shape and size
- Lego–sorted by color in drawers
- Markers, stamps, and craft supplies–also sorted by color
- A kitchen, ice cream parlor, and grocery store in miniature, complete with mini shopping carts and appliances
- A dress-up corner with costumes

To ensure that education doesn’t fall by the wayside amid all the play and fun, there’s a bookshelf and a seating area in one corner. That’s where the children do their homework, as Kim explained during the tour–at least those who are old enough.

The Highlight: North’s Pink Room
Kim Kardashian recently gave a glimpse not only into the playroom but also into North’s domain. While the playroom is unmatched in variety, the room of the firstborn is very monochromatic–literally. Whether it’s the walls, the floor, the furniture, or the textiles: Everything is pink. The only variation comes from different shades of the color.
