If you want to stay warm this winter, you might consider using a space heater. Many consumers have already stocked up on these devices, despite warnings from experts. Now, a manufacturer is recalling a space heater model due to an acute fire hazard!
In times of the energy crisis, a space heater seems to be a practical solution for many to keep their homes warm. However, consumer advocates warned some time ago about using these devices, as they can lead to high electricity costs. Now, even a space heater manufacturer from the Netherlands is warning against their use: The company Eurom is recalling a space heater due to an acute fire hazard.
Eurom Recalls Space Heater–Fire Hazard!
The space heater Eurom Dual Mate 2000 RC with the article number 352351 can catch fire. The Dutch company reported that Styrofoam might have entered the device during the manufacturing process. Upon first use, the material can ignite. If the device is still unused, the manufacturer advises that it can be returned for a full refund.

If the device is already in use, the company has published instructions on what customers should do now. “If you have already used the space heater, check the grille on the back and the grille on the front to ensure no Styrofoam is inside,” the company states. Eurom even recommends using a flashlight to search for Styrofoam remnants.
