It doesn’t always have to be the classic Christmas ornament on the tree. Festive decorations can also be crafted from flowers. How do you go about it?
Candles, ornaments, straw stars: all nice, but not particularly surprising Christmas tree decorations. For those who prefer something more unique, Christmas trees such as firs and spruces can also be festively decorated with flowers. Colorful chrysanthemums, for example, are suitable for this. What else you need for Christmas ornaments with flowers and how to make them can be found here.
Crafting Christmas Ornaments with Flowers
According to their growers, for floral tree decorations, you only need two things besides fresh chrysanthemums: twine and small flower tubes. These are often sold as orchid tubes and are sealable.
Here’s how to proceed with crafting: For the floral tree ornaments, cut the stem of the chrysanthemums about four inches below the bloom, fill the tubes with a little water, and place the plants in the tubes. They are then wrapped with twine and attached to the branches of the Christmas tree.

Alternative: Christmas Ornaments as Vases
If flowers on the tree are too unconventional, you can also repurpose old Christmas ornaments into festive vases for the plants. To do this, remove the hanging fixture from the ornaments. If desired, you can give them a new coat of spray paint. After drying, attach the ornaments to a sturdy base such as wooden stars using a hot glue gun. Then fill with water and insert the flowers.
