When sandpaper no longer does the trick, a sander can help. A multi-sander–also known as a sanding mouse–combines the best features of orbital and delta sanders. myHOMEBOOK tested the TH-OS 1016 from Einhell, available for just under 30 euros.
Einhell, a German manufacturer, is known for quality at reasonable prices. The TH-OS 1016 multi-sander is also available online at Lidl. The video shows how the Einhell multi-sander performs in the test.
What Exactly Is a Multi-Sander?
A multi-sander is a handy and lightweight sanding tool that can reach small corners due to its shape. It essentially combines features of orbital and delta sanders. From the former, it has the evenly rotating swing plate, and from the latter, the typical triangular shape.

Einhell TH-OS 1016 Multi-Sander in Test – The Unboxing
The multi-sander comes with a manageable set of accessories. The package includes:
- Multi-sander
- one piece of sandpaper (120 grit)
- dust collection bag
- user manual
It’s a bit disappointing that only one piece of 120-grit sandpaper is included. Since it’s a consumable item, it’s wise to purchase replacements right away. It’s also worth mentioning that this is a corded device.

What Stood Out in the Test
The sandpaper can be easily attached with a hook-and-loop fastener. Just plug in the power cord, and you’re ready to go. The Einhell multi-sander feels good in the hand during the test–though smaller hands might struggle to grip it. There’s only one switch for turning it on and off. Unfortunately, there are no adjustable settings, but this is easy to overlook.
A nozzle is attached to the rear of the sander, where the dust collection bag can be mounted. However, the test showed that hardly any dust ends up in the bag. Alternatively, a vacuum cleaner can be connected here.
The sanding performance is solid. Whether on surfaces, corners, edges, or curves–the multi-sander reaches every spot. When sanding paint, the sandpaper wears out fairly quickly, so it’s advisable to have replacements on hand.

Overview of Test Criteria
Performance and Quality:
The Einhell multi-sander does its job without overheating. Vibration is minimal with solid sanding performance. (4.5 out of 5 points)
Workmanship, Design, and Handling:
As a corded device, the weight is relatively low. The rounded grip feels good in the hand and is rubber-coated for a secure hold. However, people with smaller hands might struggle to grip it well. (3.5 out of 5 points)
Accessories:
More variety in sandpapers would have been appreciated. Additionally, the collection bag is not very effective, as it collects little sanding dust. A vacuum cleaner works better for active dust extraction. (2.5 out of 5 points)
Sustainability:
Sustainability aspects are always considered by myHOMEBOOK, even for power tools. Although the Einhell multi-sander is developed in Germany, no information is available about the origin of materials or production conditions. However, we have summarized our general knowledge about the sustainability of power tools in this article. The Einhell multi-sander impressed in the test with solid workmanship, suggesting a long lifespan. (3 out of 5 points)
Price-Performance Ratio:
The Einhell multi-sander scores well in this test. Comparable products can easily cost twice as much–or more. For less than 30 euros, you get as much sanding performance as is rarely found. (5 out of 5 points)
Overall Rating: 3.925 out of 5 points.

Conclusion
The TH-OS 1016 multi-sander from Einhell impresses in the test with solid performance, good handling, and an excellent price-performance ratio. It’s well-suited for beginners or occasional sanding tasks. Some points are deducted for the limited accessories. However, given the price, expectations should not be too high.
