There are corners in the home that are often overlooked during cleaning. This isn’t necessarily because we’re careless—sometimes these are just areas that are difficult to clean. However, there are simple household tricks to reach those “uncleanable” corners.
House cleaning is generally not a favorite activity for many. When nearly “uncleanable” items are added to the mix, it becomes even less enjoyable. The vase that’s too narrow for a brush? 1. Clean Narrow Vases
Vases come in various shapes and forms—what looks pretty isn’t always practical. Particularly narrow, tall vases are hard to clean. The brush doesn’t fit inside, and your hand with a cloth certainly doesn’t. But there’s a simple way to get the vase clean. Use warm water, a few drops of dish soap, and eggshells. Put everything in the vase and shake. And it’s ready for the next flowers.
2. Clean Faucet Head
Lime deposits aren’t easy to remove—especially from an uncleanable spot like the faucet head. Vinegar essence is the solution. First, unscrew the faucet head and soak it for a while. Alternatively, you can soak a towel in vinegar essence and wrap it around the faucet. Afterward, everything is sparkling clean.
3. Pick Up Small Shards
Glasses break easily—leaving countless shards. You can carefully pick up the large ones by hand. But the small ones are hardly visible. A slice of toast can help you catch them. Press the toast onto the floor, the shards stick to it, and then you can throw it away.
4. Remove Lint from Bed
Lint, hair, and crumbs often accumulate in the bed and are hard to get rid of. Wiping them away with your hand doesn’t help much. Unless you have a homemade lint roller: simply wrap regular packing tape around your hand with the sticky side out. Then run it over the bed, and everything that doesn’t belong there will stick.

5. Clean Iron
Yes, even the iron occasionally needs cleaning—but it’s definitely one of the more uncleanable items. However, that’s not a problem. Heat the iron to a medium setting and run it over simple dryer sheets a few times. This removes lime and discolorations.

6. Clean Toilet Brush
Even though the toilet is cleaned regularly, an important tool is often forgotten: the toilet brush. But it also needs cleaning. Denture cleaning tablets can help. Drop one into the toilet and follow with the brush—or simply place the tablet directly in the toilet brush holder. Once everything is soaked, the dirt is gone.
