And the aforementioned seating in striking shapes will meet many vibrant colors next year.
Such a color rush with shades like azure blue, lush grass green, and bold 70s orange is full of vibrancy. Eco-friendly alternatives have become a staple of our lives. But sustainability has many facets: it doesn’t always have to be new products made from natural materials; choosing vintage furniture is an equally conscious decision. After all, furniture from the ’50s or ’60s is often still in such good condition that it remains fully functional today. And they bring plenty of charm with them.
Therefore, special flea market finds and antique furniture from the antiquarian will be in high demand next year. But even if grandma’s wooden chest from the attic, old porcelain, and black-and-white photographs bring plenty of nostalgia home, it’s advisable to combine them with modern furniture pieces. A skillful mix of styles lightens the ambiance–otherwise, the look can quickly become outdated!
6. Interior Trend: Dark Furniture Brings Coziness
For several years now, a certain abundance of natural materials has been indispensable in the living space. Especially furniture made of solid wood is appreciated for its robust, unique nature. In addition to warm colors, materials in warm tones will also be in demand next year.
Dark woods like cherry, walnut, or mahogany bring coziness and depth to a room. At the same time, they bridge to the Midcentury style, whose classics predominantly appear dark. Dark woods are also characterized by their neutrality, which is reassuring when considering a lot of color in the room (see previous interior trends for 2024). Dark furniture is said to have a timeless, grounded character, effortlessly making a statement in the room.

7. Interior Trend: Shiny Accents with Chrome
Dark furniture pairs particularly well with one of the last interior trends of 2023: chrome. The reflective material, which caused quite a stir in trendy offices and living spaces in the ’90s and then disappeared from all settings for a long time, is now back.
Chrome-plated surfaces will often appear as an interior trend in 2024 in small furniture and accessories. As a coffee table, table lamp, floor vase, or candle holder, the neutral chrome fits perfectly with dark wood furniture or a lot of color in the room. No doubt, the near future will be greeted with shiny accents in interior design.
